ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
I ordered these bedroom/house slippers after attempting to use the "Handsewn Suede Fleece-Lined Slippers" (offered by Bean) around the inside of my house. The latter were too flimsily-made to meet my expectations of daily use for the next 20 years or so.
Aren't the terms "wicked" and "good" contradictory? At any rate, LL Bean upgraded them for these nicer boot moccasins. I wish these moccasins were made in the U.S.A., though!
At first, the moccasins felt a little too sloppy in the heel area - like they were going to come off when I wore them. They fit nicely otherwise, but just had this strange feeling like they were coming off in the heel area when I walked around the house. Maybe the excess fleece in the heel area compared to my old slippers? Maybe the fact that the Beaner only offers these in full sizes - no half sizes - I usually use a 10.5 size shoe. I bought these in size 11.
As of today (NOV. 2010 - ten months later), I don't even try my old slippers on these chilly mornings - I go right for the "moccasin boots" as the Beaner likes to call them. The "loose heel" phenomenon has gone away ( or I've been reprogrammed!).
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, superb!, buy before they are sold
These are the most comfortable slippers of which you can conceive! They are comfortable with or without socks either inside or out. Now my wife has requested a pair after trying out my pair.
I bought these for my husband in 2003 and he loved them!! I am just now having to replace them for him, there durable and the best gift he ever got! (in his words)
These slippers used to be made better than they are today. I know because I have been ordering them for over 12 years now. Also, it would be nice to have a wide in womens. I have to order a men's regular to get the wide fit. They are still very comfy and warm, but wish they had the old quality.
