I've been buying L.L. Bean's Wicked Good Slippers for at least 10 years. Although they've always been very durable, this time, I wanted a pair of slippers with a rubber sole so that I wouldn't have to dry them out after going out in the rain or snow to pick up the paper.
So I chose the Wicked Good Moc Boots. Unfortunately this name is a misnomer. Although the photo shows that they don't come as far up the ankle as the Wicked Good Slippers, it's easy to assume that they still come up higher than regular slippers. They don't. It's a stretch to claim that they have "ankle height for increased warmth."
Don't get me wrong: The Wicked Good Moc Boots are great slippers in the sense that they're comfortable and appear durable enough to last for years. But if you prefer the ankle-warming design of the Wicked Good Slippers, then you should buy the Wicked Good Slippers.
I would say that the shoes are comfortable. The tongue, however is a little disappointing. It will not stay lying down. It constantly flips up showing the underside and makes you look like you are wearing bunny slippers.
Bought Pair last year, 2009, and was delighted except that the inside seems to be wearing out. So I decided to get another pair, the boot style, and give it another go. Still would not part with the original set. Maybe I am just hard on the slippers since they are wearing out from the inside!
