The pair of 2-3 years ago had thicker lining, better fit, and lasted longer than the pair I bought last year. Within 2 months, a hole came through the side of the toe section. We'll give one more try with order of a 3rd pair.
First off, L.L. Bean makes wonderful products, there service is excellent, and they stand behind their products in ways not often seen today. So what do I think of my new Wicked Good Moc Boots? They are comfortable and very well made, especially considering the price. However I genuinely preferred my old L. L Bean Moccasins due to the lighter leather color, lighter weight, lack of plastic sole, and lack of pungent aroma that emanates from these Mocs weeks after purchase. My old Moccasins still have a delightful scent of fine leather and wool as compared to my new Mocs which smell for all the world like baby oil. Negative comment aside, if when the time comes to replace these Mocs I can not find something more akin to the originals, I will definitely purchase these Mocs again.
Let's just say, since receiving these, my husband has not taken them off! We're having an extra cold winter and the extra height and warmth of these slippers are doing the trick. Thank you for such a great product.
