I bought the fern border rugs-5x8 and runner to match in sprout about 10 years ago. I love them. They still look like new. I have a cat and grandchildren. I am considering ordering another 5x8 for another room in the sand color.
I've been looking for a while for a replacement for the wool rugs I have now. I wanted good looks, easy care and durability. I bought 2 8x10 sprout colored rugs. They are beautiful, just like they appeared online, heavyweight, and felt good underfoot. BUT... within two weeks there were pulls on the rug! I read other reviews that said cat or dog claws caught and pulled the loops, but I have no pets or young children. My 13 year old plays video games on the floor and that is where the worst pulls are. If sitting on the floor did this so easily, these rugs are not durable. Perhaps they should have been sealed from the back to prevent being damaged so easily. I was hoping for something like soft waterhogs. Those rugs are great and wear like iron. The Fern Border Rug was not even close. Something is wrong with the construction. I returned both of them.
10-12 years ago I purchased this rug for the livingroom. It's been great, surviving two dogs, very well. I've just purchased another, and the old one compares favorably with the new, just a little flatter which isn't surprising.
Recently something unknown was spilled on the old rug. It looked terminal but came off almost instantly.
Love that this rug is still available--quite unusual for most products now.
I was tired of putting my feet on the cold floor in the morning. The rug pile is a bit stiff but it does have cushioning to it. I like the color and border design. Will really appreciate it come the dead of winter.
