I purchased a fern border rug because I knew about L.L.Bean’s commitment to quality. I wanted a rug that was resistant to stains and durable. I now have to get a new rug because after several attempts, the spots are still there! I have used a spot rug cleaner on the L.L.Bean rug, but it is still stained. In fact, when I vacuumed after using the rug cleaner, some of the rug fibers pulled and others frayed in several places. I tried spot cleaning using a natural stain remover that works on my laundry and on other rugs that I have, but the stains are still there. I am disappointed with this item.
I wanted a new front door rug after our puppy shredded our non LL Bean rug. I chose the fern border rug because of the reviews and the fact it is stain resistant. I wanted something that looked nice for our front door foyer. The border is very pretty giving the rug a nice "entry look." The only bad thing about the rug it is a bit short to cover our 2 front doors. I bought the 3'6" x 5' in dark brown. Overall I am pleased with the purchase.
This is the second time that I have purchased this style rug from Bean, and I love it as much this time as I did the first. It is a beautiful rug for the money. I had no problem with it flattening out and the color was true to the online picture. I would most certainly buy it again when the need arises!
We have just had these rugs 2 weeks and the edges are all ready starting to look worn and unraveled. We purchased rugs similar to these that were 100% wool that lasted 14 years. We were hoping the same with these rugs, but not likely the way they look in just a few weeks.
