I have to confess that the first thing I did was cut out the liner, but after that these things are great. I have looked far and wide for good, active, light-weight, quick-drying shorts like these. When you are shopping at the sports stores these days its either the heavy, constricting board shorts or the mesh basketball shorts, but these shorts are a perfect mix. You can wear them on the courts, in the gym or running errands--they have great pockets, too.
Living in Cape Cod, I spend hours at the beach. These truly live up to their billing: Within 20 minutes after stepping out of the ocean, they are dry. Plus, they're comfortable and look pretty nifty. My 3 year old pair seem like they did the first month I received them.
I have purchased several pairs of these shorts over the past few years, and find them to be quite excellent. The fit, the styling, and the comfort of the material are all superb. The only drawback is the fact that chlorinated swimming pool water causes the color to seriously fade after three or four months of use.
These shorts/swimming shorts are great for around the pool, boat, working in the yard, or in the ocean. They do not retain water and dry quickly. The 8" inseam makes them as casual shorts. I have worn them right from the ocean; put on a polo shirt and had lunch at a beachside restaurant.
