I have a pair of Haflingers which were double the price of these. I'm not sure why people are complaining about the shearling, because the L.L. Bean's are much less matted and much fluffier than my Haflingers (which were recommended by my podiatrist). I don't even like to write good reviews because invariably the vendor raises the price on a product I really like (welcome to corporate America), but it annoys me for people to complain about these shoes which are SO NICE. Heh, if you can find a better pair of slippers, by all means, buy them, and tell me where they are so I can get some too. I will say the Haflingers have better arch support and they fit more like a real shoe (the LLBeans run a little big and are more shapeless, at least for my foot), hence not the full 5 stars, but I prefer the LLBean slippers because I am cold natured and like all the shearling which is still as nice as the day I bought these shoes. I live in the north, maybe if I were in Florida I wouldn't care. The slippers are also very nice looking. I have the grey.
Best. Slipper. EVER. I have had four pair of these, three in choc. brown and one in a cute bluish gray with snowflakes which I save for Christmas time. The others I wear Year Round. I have plantar fasciitis and these are the only slippers with actual arch support. They may feel a little stiff at first, but that is the nature of cork, which molds to your foot to make a custom fit. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed and your feet will thank you!
I have had a pair of these slippers a zillion years. Most of the shearling is either worn off or totally compacted. One slipper finally wore thru at the toe. (These slippers often go outside for dog walks, so they are not pristine house slippers.) Fearfully, I ordered a new pair. They came today and they are THE SAME. Hurrah!!! In this world where nothing stays the same, these slippers have. Thank you LLBean. I wear a size 9-1/2 shoe. Ordered the size 9 and they fit fine. Warm, comfortable, good quality, decent price. Love them.
I have been buying these slippers for years and I do love them. I wear them outside all of the with no issue however, the ones I bought this year do not have the same amount of lining in them as before. What's going on LLBean? Don't get me wrong they are still good slippers however the quality is not the same. Otherwise fit runs a little wide that works for me because i like wearing socks in the winter.
