I have had a pair of these for at least 10 years. When I bought them they were $35, that's how old they are! I wear them whenever I am home and they have lasted even dogs chewing on them. I have finally worn the inside down to the point that they are no longer comfortable, so they need to be replaced. I hope they last another 10 years!
Just changed out of my 2 year old pair of these slippers into my 5ish year old pair. It's like night and day - the current/newer model runs too wide and too long, and the shearling wears down in a matter of months. Older pair- much more snug fit and more plush feel, even after 3 yrs of wear.
I really want another pair but refuse to spend the money on these inferior slippers in their current incarnation.
I have two pairs of these WICKED AWESOME slippers. I was so disappointed when LLBean stopped selling them, and was so excited to see them back. They are so warm and comfortable. I have to put them on as soon as I get home. THANK YOU for bringing them back.
Received a pair as a gift a couple of years ago and they were so fabulously comfortable and warm, I gifted a friend with a pair. Then they weren't available. Now "by popular demand" they're back, so I gifted a sister with a pair. Lo and behold, they're not made the same way. In the catalog photo they look the same but in reality they're not made/manufactured the same way. Perhaps outsourced to a different suppllier (in a different country)? The band that goes around the outer edge, around the toe and along the sides isn't the same material, and is set a bit higher into the top and sides and around the toe -- so less "wiggle" room, less interior height at the toe, and no "give." They're being returned. And looking at that band, after hearing they aren't comfortable, I can see the difference. Pity
