Before I got these I was never one to wear slippers, but now I can't wait to put them on the minute I walk in the door each night. Yes, some of the shearling has worn away, but it does not impact the comfort of the slippers. I have worn mine daily for over two years and have many great years of wear yet to come. When the time does come that I have to replace them, I will replace them with exactly the same thing. Worth every penny. I bought a pair for my mother-in-law this year for Christmas because I raved and raved about mine and she just couldn't understand it. Now she does.
I echo the other reviewers who say these clog slippers are NOTHING like they used to be! The quality does not even compare, yet they are more expensive. I absolutely loved these slippers!! I had purchased 3-4 pairs in the past going back many, many, many years. Lately I have been asking for them as Christmas presents, and was very disappointed when Christmas 2011 they were not available. I was thrilled when they again became available in 2012, and purchased a pair a few months ago. Today I was putting them on, thinking "These are NOTHING like they used to be!" The quality of the top suede and inside shearling is very poor. The shearling was smashed down within a few weeks and not plush and cushy and comfortable like they used to be. My few-months-old slippers appear to be 3 years old! I wondered what kind of reviews they are getting on the LLBean website, if this was a trend with the newer slippers, is LLBean trying to save $$ using poorer quality materials, or just an odd issue with mine.
So, lo and behold, I come here today and see others posting the exact same thing as I'm feeling. I am so disappointed with these slippers, and am sad that once these are worn out, which will be very soon instead of the up-to-3 years my others would last, even while often wearing them outside, I'll have to find another slipper from another company. I would never recommend these to anyone. And I used to love these slippers!!
Thank you so much for bringing back these slippers. There is no slipper on Earth that is as nice as these. I know. I searched the Internet for months after your dropped them and ended up with a pair that weren't bad and might have been great if I hadn't had three pairs of Wicked Good Slippers before that. There's no comparison. Again, thank you for responding to your customers' despair at losing them and for bringing them back.
I just received my second pair. I love the Cork because after a couple days of break-in, voila' you have a perfect custom orthotic to support your foot. I wore my first pair every day -- whenever I am in the house, these are on my feet because their support is better than athletic shoes. After several years of wearing my first pair, my left clog began to develop a small separation in the seam between the sole and the upper. When I looked into exchanging them I was told they had been discontinued. I shared my great disappointment and decided to keep them and live with the minor flaw. Unfortunately, over time the separation grew. This year I noticed the clogs back in the catalog and called customer service. I was told to send them back. They would honor their guarantee.
