I have had these probably 2-3 years, only worn in colder months (Oct-Mar). I love the warmth and comfort and mostly wear clogs or backless shoes so these are perfect. However, I too have developed a hole, only on right side. Thinking it was me, I was about to look for a new pair when I read the other comments about right toe problem! My husband's slippers seem to last year's longer and he wears his everyday. Now I am unsure if I should invest in another pair.
The design of these has changed. The new ones are longer and have less wool inside. As such, there's too much space inside, and when I walk, the heels drag on the floor. I'm bummed. Wish I had kept my old pair. Not sure what I'm going to do with these. Maybe wear socks with them? Maybe try another slipper? The cork platform with arch support is an important aspect of the slipper for me. Supports my back when standing at home, cooking in the kitchen, doing chores, etc. Most slippers don't have this support.
I have bought 2 pair of these slippers and I was about to purchase a 3rd when I read the reviews. My slippers have very little shearling left in them and have a hole at the right toe just as others have complained of. Must be a defect, I think it is odd that so many reviewers would have the same problem. I love these slippers but am hesitant to spend so much money to have this happen again.
I have had my pair for going on three years. I wore them as much as I could during cold months. They were divine the first year. They have gotten wore down a bit now. The shearling is gone here and there - shiny spots. They are still comfortable so I am going to hold out another year. I just want to know from LLBean why they don't make this exact item for men?! They have things they call wicked good but they are not the same cork bed construction that I can see. Please make these in Men sizes.
