Had a pair of these for many years and loved them. They would have lasted forever it seemed except that the inside shearling wore down and I decided to spring for another pair. The pair I received the other day was not the same. The "shearling" was not the wonderfully cozy and comfortable stuff the old ones had. This stuff wasn't nearly as soft and felt synthetic. I am returning them as they are not worth the price.
I am about to order my third pair of Wicked Good Clogs. My first pair lasted 10 years until the soles wore out. My second pair has not performed as well. Within 6 months a hole wore through over my right big toe! I am glad to hear it isn't just me! My husband has teased me about the hole in my shoe.
It is amazing how much cold winter air can go through that hole!
I noticed that the leather wasn't as good quality as my first pair, but the comfort of these clogs is most important to me. After working 8+ hours on concrete the first thing I do is head for my houseshoes. The arch support in these shoes is incredible and my tired feet feel relief immediately.
Maybe L.L. Bean will work on the quality control of the leather with these shoes. Under NO circumstances is the last to be changed on these shoes. The comfort of the shoes is what it is all about.
I can't wait to get home and put these on! I go the gray ones. Super durable! Nice enough to run out to do an errand. I am normally a 7 1/2 - but the 8 fits wonderfully.
My husband purchased these about 3 years ago for me and very quickly all of the shearling had worn away and a little over a year ago the right slipper developed a hole at the big toe area. The suede is fairly thin and I wear them for the usual amount of time that one wears slippers so this seems a tad quick for something with this cost! Sounds like others have had the exact same problems so I don't think it is a fluke. I wouldn't purchase them again if they are only going to be useful for less then 2 years.
