My moon beam clock arrived and I immediately set it up for operation. It keeps excellent time and the alarm is very loud. I am deaf in one ear; I must turn down the volume even for me. This is a great clock, looks great but I wish it wasn't as pricey. I would recommend it to any one that wants a great alarm clock.
The alarm and light didn't work on this clock. I logged in and low and behold, a bunch of other people had the same issue! When I went back to LL Bean Store and said I had a clock to return she laughed at me and said "I know which one before you even tell me. We've had a bunch of returns on it." Knowing this, why does LL bean continue to sell it? I know it is in the pre-printed catalogue but when you try to order they should tell you it is unavailable. LL Bean is usually great but sure dropped the ball on this item. I only gave it one star because it is a cute item, but I don't need a paperweight, I need an alarm clock.

Pro-It has an 'on' button to illuminate the face at night. It's soft and doesn't shine in my eyes at night. Con-The light flashing alarm I wouldn't trust to get me out of bed. The alarm isn't a loud ring.
It's sort of cute in a retro sort of way and I did keep it as customer service was courteous and helpful to send me one immediately when the first didn't work. This one will go into my bathroom. L.L. Bean is number one in service and I will continue to shop with them provided things are made in Maine instead of imports. I'll pay more for American made products from Maine.
I love this clock. I love the glow that lights up the dial without lighting up the room. It's a bit larger than I expected, but that is good because I don't need to squint or use glasses. Just what I was looking for! It is also easy to set.
