I purchased the moonbeam clock because I was taken by its appearance and features, so much so that I never noticed it was a corded clock. :-)
I returned it primarily because I was so startled by its bell on Low that I never noticed its gently illuminating LED feature. The other reasons were that its cord took up valuable space on my nightstand and I find that battery-operated clocks are much more practical in the bedroom.
If you, too, are sound and sight-challenged you may be happier with the Big Ben battery-operated model whose alarm on Low is an absolute delight.
No nasty buzzer, the lighted dial is a "calm" light and does not keep you awake, the light on the clock which goes on when the clock rings is also a calm light and blinks. It is much more pleasant in the AM now! Yippee! This clock is allso very easy to use and set. I give it 10 stars!
I recently got the Moon Beam alarm in pale green to match the ultra soft flannel bedding that I got from L.L.Bean a while ago. I love it. The alarm clock is a perfect match. The bell is loud enough, even on the low setting. The alarm is very easy to set. I love that it has battery backup just in case. As far as looks go, the clock is beautiful and dresses up my room very well. I couldn't be happier.
We have had this clock for years. No problems at all with its function or looks. I have the lavender: it is a great color. It has worked really well as I am a sound sleeper and my husband often gets up earlier, so I sleep right through the flashing light but it wakes him up. The only complaint is that for both of us, the normal night light is way too bright, so he turns the face away from the bed at night; otherwise it keeps him up. That means that if I want to know the time in the middle of the night, I have to get up to see the clock.
