I have very strong opinions about alarm clocks. I need it to light up, be readable without my -17 lenses, have an excellent font (no bright red LEDs,please), a non-electric sounding alarm, a cool design, natural materials.
OK, I'm unreasonable in my demands. But this clock hits on all counts, except that it is plastic (justified by a funky retro design), and the alarm is an electic version of an old fashioned bell (forgiven, since the alarm is a good attempt at a more gentle sound).
It looks cool, the glow is very nice and "moon-like" at night, the face uses a good font, the flashing light means I rarely hear the alarm (and neither does my husband), it looks cool with my retroish decor. A great find.
I tried to find the perfect clock for beside my bed for months. Their light was too bright or their numbers too small or they just did not work. This clock is perfect, very soft light, big numbers, and works like a charm. Glad I kept trying to find the right one!!!
I bought this clock because I like the retro design and don't like to be awakened by a jarring electronic beep. The alarm sounded like the gentle old fashioned jingle of a big Ben, even tho I am sure it was electronic. The light didn't wake me because it is summer and there is sunshine coming in my bedroom in the A.M. but I will enjoy it on dark winter mornings. It was bigger than I expected, but I don't mind that.
I love this clock. This is my 2nd purchase-bought one several years ago for my bedroom. This one is for my guest room. Love the blinking light before the alarm goes off-a gentle way to wake up. It's pretty, has backlight for night time, retro looking and has battery backup.
