I was a big fan of the Moon Beam clock I got five years ago from LLBean. However, the replacement (I dropped my original clock and shook some parts loose) is a bit of a disappointment. It looks very nice like the old one, but I never had to use the alarm on my old clock, always waking by the bright but gentle light. However, in the week since I have had the new clock, the light does not wake me. The whole purpose of the light alarm for me is to keep my household quiet so my husband can sleep past 4:30 a.m. when I get up. Also, the numbers are less bold and therefore harder to see in the night by the weaker light. I actually went on an online auction this weekend and bought a used Moon Beam. My husband will get this new one and I will get the older version with the light that is bright enough to see and wake me.
