I purchased this clock to replace the moonbeam clock that I bought from LL Bean 6 years ago, because the old clock stopped working. The new clock has a larger, easier to use snooze button than the old clock, and it also has an option to choose between light only, light and buzzer, or both. This was not an option on the old clock. Unfortunately, the back light on the new clock is very dim and the clock is hard to read, and the blinking light is now blue, and barely bright enough to wake us up. The old clock woke us up right away, but we had to move the new clock to a position where it is right in front of our faces just to see it when it blinks. I am not going to return this clock because I like waking up to a light rather than to a loud buzzer, but I am very disappointed with the blue light and the dim back light.
This clock is great looking and functional. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a 5 star rating is the "non" sweep second hand. This means that the second hand makes a ticking sound heard by those of us cursed with good hearing.
I am a deep sleeper and haven't been able to find an alarm clock that works. This one WORKS! It has a slow wake up feature, that doesn't scare you out of bed. Great clock!!
