What a great clock. Just the right amount of gentle light to provide access to the time and orientation of the room all through the night. No glare at all to interfere with sleep. A little smaller might be nice.
Opened up room on my night stand, easy to read face, on-off switch for back light, great antique look and color. The night light when on is a gentle glow. The alarm has a low and slow flashing light that speeds up and brightens up starting 5 min before the alarm time. The alarm itself is subdued by plenty loud enough to wake you up. You can use just the light, or just the alarm or both. Great product. Nice and simple
i have only had this for about two weeks, so i cannot speak to how well it will last, but I am confident in LL bean's customer service that if it does fail they will take care of it. The clock is cute, albeit slightly cheap feeling. it is made of rather light plastic, and the clear part on the left side through which the alarm light shines has a funny texture that reminds me of a halogen light bulb. Also, the alarm light is a very cold, bright light. not offensive, per se, but I could see how for some people it may be startling. I am a light sleeper and have awoken to the light, so the sound of the alarm hasn't really impacted me. I do like the light up face function, and I like that I can turn it off. the knobs on the back are ok for me, but I can see how they would be difficult to turn if you had big fingers, peripheral neuropathy, or arthritis.
