I received a replacement for my original Moon Beam Alarm Clock, as I was experiencing the same issues as many others in that the alarm did not work. Also, the second hand was quite noisy. That second issue didn't bother me much. But the replacement has, so far, been working perfectly. The alarm has not failed once, and lo and behold, the second hand IS much quieter. I have had it two weeks now.
I have two of these clocks in different bedrooms, and they are just what I like in a bedside clock. First of all, I'm not a fan of digital clocks and just like to see the standard clock face, as on these clocks. I also like the lighted dial that serves as just enough light to check time in the middle of the night. I also like that there is some color to the clock--though I wish the lavender one would return! One more feature I appreciate (since we live on a sometimes-stormy coast) is the batteries that keep the clock running if the power goes out. All in all, I'm a big fan of these clocks!
The clock is beautiful and retro... but I am so disappointed in the fact that it has a flashing light. The sun doesn't flash. Also, I wish there was an option to have JUST the light, without an alarm.
