I first saw this clock years ago in an L. L. Bean catalog and was drawn to its timeless, vintage look. To my delight, I recently received it as a gift. I love the battery backup feature -- a power outage won't interfere with this clock! The alarm features a beam of light, or a bell, or both; so far the light alone is enough to wake me up while allowing my husband to sleep. The backlit face is helpful without glaring and keeping me awake and thought has been given to a typeface that's in keeping with the retro appeal of this clock. I chose the green color, which is reminiscent of favorite old Jadeite glass pieces, but all the colors are beautiful. A timeless piece of timekeeping for sure, and one I will treasure for years to come.
A little bit bigger than I anticipated, but it's great. At my age, the analog dial is a huge plus so I can tell the time without putting on my glasses. And it doesn't automatically change to DST, a huge help for those of us in AZ and IN who don't "spring forward, fall back." And it's so simple, I didn't even need an instruction manual.
Bought this clock in yellow to put in my bathroom. Love the color - goes with color scheme. Don't really use it as alarm clock. Face is large and back lit at night. Easy to see.
I had one of these clocks in my bedroom as a young girl. I was so excited to see a reproduction!! It's much nicer to wake up to the light than a loud bell. But, if the light doesn't wake you - the bell will! Love it!!!
