This item is very nice! Easy to read easy to wake up to. It is much better quality than the previous style. I purchased the previous one several years ago and it broke in the first month. This is a much sturdier item.
As with several other reviewers, I love the look and functionality of this clock but the alarm did not work. The light is fine, but not the bell. Sent it back for an exchange (still in process) and will try one or two more times to get one that works. That's how much I like the look and readability of this clock! The description does not spell out that this clock is a plug-in, which I figured out before I ordered.
i am really enjoying my moon beam alarm clock. the lighted dial has just enough light to check the time, but not too much that it might keep you awake. on the other hand, i have yet to hear the" sound "alarm- the blinking light wakes me up, no problem! the styling is great- just retro enough to be hip. it looks great in our bedroom, and i hope to purchase another clock for an upstairs bedroom.
Nice old fashioned styling, added features to original Moonbeam clock: switch to turn night light off, switch to turn the alarm volume down (though one of the two clocks I ordered did not have this new feature, beware). A little less substantial in weight than the original LL Bean Moonbeam clock, with a less bright wake up light, though it is sufficient to wake me (the current version apparently is not incandescent).
