This alarm clock is really nice. I have found that I only need the blinking light to wake me up in the morning. It makes for a NICE gentle way to wake up. This can not be said for the bell. The bell is VERY loud. If I had to use the bell, I would probably be returning the alarm clock because it would just be too jarring, but for someone looking for a gentle light to wake them, this is PERFECT!

This is the perfect alarm clock. And it is offered in decorator colors. The light is soft on the dial and very easy to read, it has a variety of alarm options including volume, it plugs in AND has backup batteries. All this PLUS a true vintage design. Jackpot!
I wanted a clock with a soft light to see the time in the middle of the night. This is a real winner and it has all the charm of a "retro" timepiece. The lovely, soft yellow color I chose is charming in my room, but the clock comes in other shades. This is a true "recommend" item you will love.
I love the look of the clock. I wasn't sure if the light flashing would actually wake me up but it does. The bell sound is loud and startled me at first but it's good if you have trouble getting up to your alarm and need a little extra push.
