I've had this clock for several years but have never been totally happy with it as it gives off too much light for me (I find myself arranging the blankets so the light won't shine in my eyes) and it ticks. I like the way it looks and it works fine but I'm going to get the Big Ben for my bedroom now that I've read the reviews.
I had hoped this clock worked as good as it looked and I wasn't disappointed. I chose the yellow color. The backlight of the dial is bright enough to see if you wake up during the night but does not bother me when going back to sleep. Truthfully, I wondered if the blinking light alarm would do the job but it did. I'm very happy with this purchase
Both my girls really liked the retro look. I also bought one for myself and like the luminated face, and the side light that blinks prior to the alarm going off.
