I love the retro look of this clock, and the yellow color is a mild, soft yellow. I've had it for about a year and have had no issues with it. It works as it is supposed to. The gradual blinking light doesn't wake me up unless I happen to be facing the clock, but the alarm that sounds can wake the dead. I find myself scrambling to hit "snooze" so I don't wake up the rest of the house (or neighborhood!) If it had a volume control it would be perfect!
Well - I have now gone through two of these alarm clocks. Overall it does a great job of waking you up with the light and for those tough mornings the backup alarm does come in handy. The Clock looks great on the nightstand. However, with both the original and the replacement I ordered they just stop working with neither the light nor the back-up functioning but the clock is still keeping perfect time
So, this clock looks amazing, and I love the color (green). It's also really pleasant at night when I wake up and need to know what time it is. It's not bright enough to keep me awake, but it's perfect for seeing how much time left I have to sleep, through bleary eyes.
However, the alarm leaves something to be desired. It's impossible to set b/c it's a guessing game, and it's about 45 minutes off. Per the giant yellow warning sticker, I tried my hardest not to turn the thing the wrong way, but maybe I did? it shouldn't be that easy to mess the entire clock up like that. Either way, we don't use the alarm.
Also the alarm did go off once at 1 in the morning (b/c it just kind of set itself) and it was SO obtrusive. I liked the lights blinking but it became part of my dream, and then I was jolted awake with a hellion alarm. Scary.
But, I will not return this clock b/c I love everything else about it!
I'm on my second clock. The first one worked fine for less than a month before the bell stopped working. Just tried the second one this morning and good thing I set my cell phone alarm as backup because this clock did the same exact thing. Light went off but no bell. What a shame! I would have thought I was crazy if I didn't see other reviewers with the same problem.

• There is now a switch on the back of the clock that allows you to select the light, bell or both. Please make sure you've selected the correct position.
• When you test the alarm, note that you must set it at least 15 minutes ahead of the current time in order for it to sound.
• Because this is an analog clock, the alarm switch must be turned on daily.
