I bought this clock for my son who is a freshman at University and was having trouble waking for class. It works great and he verified that to me when we recently skyped. The combination of the light and the sound has done the trick and no more missed classes or being late to class. Great classic clock.
I ordered this clock over 5 years ago for my daughter. It looked nice . The alarm never worked. I needed a new clock myself recently and thought I'd give this clock another try. I still like the looks, but after reading the reviews, I can't believe that there are still reviews saying that the alarm doesn't work. There is no way I'd buy this clock again . It must be defective and they still can't make it right.

We've noticed comments from several customers about the alarm on this clock, and we'd like to help. • There is now a switch on the back of the clock that allows you to select the light, bell or both. Please make sure you've selected the correct position. • When you test the alarm, note that you must set it at least 15 minutes ahead of the current time in order for it to sound. • Because this is an analog clock, the alarm switch must be turned on daily. Prosdid not perform as expect
After 3 clocks not working correctly I have decided to give up on this clock.
Really like the backlight and the look of the clock. Alarm set is a little off, difficult to get set to exactly the right time, and hard time getting the bell to work. Wake to flashing light is good. Larger than I expected, but I like it. Quality not quite as good as expected. Overall I like the clock and decided to keep it.
