Just like the original, but with updated colors and features, fits nicely into my shabby chic designed guest room. 1st clock had a problem, alarm did not buzz, L.L.Bean sent out a replacement immediately and paid return shipping. Very pleased.
I love the looks of the clock. I love the way the blinking light wakes me up on dark mornings (beware: it won't wake you if you wish to awaken at, say, 3 pm or another daylight hour for a night shift!), but the thing TICKS. Who would put a ticking second hand on a clock meant for sleeping? I've had this clock for three or so years, in yellow, and it looks great in my room. I've taken it to two different clock makers to see if they can remove the ticking second hand, as that ticking really annoys me...they cannot. For some reason, I actually regulate my breathing like a beat to a piece of music would, and it keeps me from relaxing enough to go to sleep. I have put it in my guest room because of that, and my guests have said, "That ticking clock drove me nuts so I unplugged it; I hope you don't mind." Yeah, me, too! I wish there was some way that Westclox (the maker) would offer it without a second hand. Why does a person need a second hand for a bedside alarm clock, unless to time the number of minutes one hears a ticking sound?????
love the moon beam clock had one in the 50's and loved it then. the new back up battery is great when the power goes off. have a small problem with the actual color, being brighter, compaired wth your picture. reordered in vanilla and hope it fits in my color scheme.
