This is a good looking clock, best of all the gently lit dial doesn't disturb your sleep even if clock is close to your face. Easy to read the time. The flashing light feature that eases you awake is subtle but effective. Only complaint is that the alarm bell is rather strident and for a light sleeper, it's overkill.
This is the second one we have bought, first in a mint green pastel shade and now in a beige ivory tone. The retro colors and styling are fun! The size is just right with about a 4 inch diameter face. The flashing LED light is a cute gimmick but don't count on it to wake you by itself without the loud mechanical bell (as you may not be facing the blinking light when you are sound asleep!) The large BIG BEN Moonbeam backlight on the face lights up well only in a dark room and can be turned off manually, but I can't see why anyone would want to as it is much less light than a typical night light would provide. And you get battery back-up for the time and alarm for 2 minutes (without the dial backlight on in order to conserve battery power according to the enclosed instruction sheet). Highly recommended especially for those who are tired of programming their electronic digital clocks! Both clocks came with a white electrical cord which is also an appreciated touch. ENJOY!
This clock is a piece of functional art. Very stylish. The ticking is not loud like others of its kind. The only drawback is not having AM/PM setting so you have to turn your alarm off every morning and remember to turn it back on at night. But it's worth it!
I love the design on this clock, and liked the idea of having the lights go on first, and then a nice alarm sound. But the sound on the alarm is absolutely terrible (much louder than a typical alarm clock).
