It's not exactly what I expected, based on what I understood from the magazine and online description. I didn't realize the light would actually flash. I also don't notice it getting brighter the longer it flashes....but perhaps it does and I'm just too asleep to notice. I've only used it with the setting where the light comes on first and then the alarm kicks in if you don't hit snooze after about three minutes. Sometimes I notice the light before the alarm, sometimes not. I do like the old fashioned alarm sound. I find it effective for waking me up without being annoying. I like the look of the clock...I can't stand digital and won't own anything digital...I ordered the yellow. Overall I really do like it, it's just not exactly what I thought I'd be getting. I haven't gone back to re-read the blips in the magazine and online to see if I misunderstood or if the description really isn't clear.
I'm pleased with the clock and it seems solid and well made. Makes a nice additon to our guest bedroom and its very easy to figure out how to set the alarm.
I bought the vanilla clock to go in my green bedroom.The clock is the finishing touch in my 50's room. Each time I look at the clock I smile remembering my youth.
I purchased my first clock a month ago for my master bedroom ( green) and loved it so much that I bought a second for my guest bedroom ( yellow) They are awesome in design and color. We are moving soon and if I end up with a 3rd bedroom..lol...the Blue one is next on my list. Signed, Moon Beam Clock Addict : )
