It is so refreshing to just touch the back of the clock when I want it to illuminate at night rather than have to cover it with a pillow to keep the awful digital glow from keeping me awake! The flashing light alarm is awesome - wakes you up without scaring you awake.
This is a sweet alarm clock; I really enjoy waking up to its gentle glow. The only thing is that it is quite a bit larger than I expected it to be . . . it really takes up just about my whole bedside table. Otherwise, very nice.
I *thought* this clock got BRIGHTER as it woke you up. It does not, it flashes. I am getting used to this mode of action, but still have to rely on the "bell" mode sometimes. I love the look and readability of the clock, but am still not sure about the flashing. Lastly, the bell is a very loud and abrupt bell, I had figured with a gentle, light alarm that the bell would also be more gentle.
