A fantasticly styled clock but was so disappointed with the material used to make it...cheap plastic. I had higher hopes for a clock of its price and styling. I ended up returning it.
I have been looking for a long time for a bedroom clock that was nice looking and not contemporary. I love this clock, especially the light that comes on and blinks 5 minutes before the alarm goes off. Highly recommend this retro looking clock.
I have one of the Moonbeam clocks that LL Bean first sold quite a number of years ago and I love it. Recently, however, in a moment of stupidity I apparently broke something inside when I turned the Alarm Set knob the wrong direction. The obvious solution was to buy a replacement. Wrong, wrong, wrong! The clock currently sold is clunky and tacky compared to the older one. The plastic "frame" around the face is thick and lacking in the grace of the old. The plastic case and the metal decorative strip around the base don't even fit well. In addition, the original was a lovely "mellow yellow". The new one is bright and unappealing. All in all, it looks cheap. I returned the new one and will stick with the old even though the alarm does not work properly at certain settings. If you have an old one, take care of it as it is irreplaceable.
I love this clock and you can tell because I've returned two of them and have ordered a third. The first clodk worked fine for a few months and then the alarm (both light and bell) just stopped. The second clock worked for two months and then just stopped entirely. If I smacked it the hands would begin moving again but only for an hour or a day - I never knew how long. Keeping my fingers crossed for number three but that's my last try.
