I purchased a Moon Beam clock a few years back from LL Bean because of fond memories of the clock from childhood. I was surprise to find that the clock was very close to the original look of the 1940's - 50's clock. I decided that it would make a great gift for my mother this year. Upon opening the clock I found that the so called improvements that were made (adding a LARGE SNOOZE bar) on the top of the clock takes away from the original look of the clock which is why they are popular today. It's time to take a hard look at this item and roll back to it's original look and feel, which is why it holds special appeal in the first place.
This clock has a beautiful design. I purchased two of them. My only comment is one of the clocks has a loud tick, tick, tick which is annoying at 3:00am. And the other clocks lighted face is much brighter than the ticking clock. So I chose the less of the two evils for my bedroom. Which was the brightly lighted clock and turned the face away from the bed. They lack consistancy, at least the two I purchased did.
Moon Beam Clock is perfect for light sensitive sleepers like myself. It can be set to no audible alarm, just the flashing light and it works excellently. Good clock.
These were Xmas gifts for my sons, one a teenager, so an alarm clock is both needed and despised. But this one is easy to use, has option for battery driven in case the power goes out and doubles as a nightlight (great for the younger son), plus the chime bell, light or both options for the alarm is actually pretty pleasant for an unwelcomed event in the morning (plus for teen!). So we are all happy with the clock!
