I bought this clock for my daughter-in-law because she liked mine so much. I love my clock- it is so beautiful. The clock keeps wonderful time and I love the alarm sound. If there were anything I would change about it, it would be a little more user friendly for overnight guests that don't use it all the time, it seems to be a bit difficult to get the hang of.
I am ordering my second clock for my husband. I have had one for a few years and I love it. It's gently illuminated, which means it doesn't keep you awake with a bright light. It starts to blink on/off to wake you gently with the alarm and then rings a gentle alarm. This clock wouldn't work for a heavy sleeper, like my son. Also, be aware it is an "old-fashioned" clock with an audible "tick-tock", which I love, but may keep you awake at first. You will get accustomed to the sound. Love it!!
Purchased the Moon Beam Clock in yellow after looking at it in the L.L. Bean catalogs for years. It has a happy face with a soothing little tick tock sound and the light alarm feature is great when you don't want to be jarred awake with the sound alarm, but both are available just in case the light doesn't wake you. Even my teenage son who has a difficult time waking up, used my new alarm clock for a few days and he liked it so much I just ordered one for him in green.
