Really finding this clock soothing, the gentle glow of the face really looks moon-like, the gentle flashing wakes me up without too much of a start, less disturbing for my bedside hubby. But if I linger, the buzz gets me up fast.
My five-year-old Moon Beam clock stopped providing the alarm function. I checked the bulb, but that wasn't the problem. I was disappointed. However, I loved the clock so much I decided to get another one, this time in a different color. The new model is worth the change. The old clock's backlighting was too bright. This one has a more dim backlight and the option of turning off the backlight altogether. I'm hooked on waking to a flashing light. No jarring screeching for me.
I loved this clock - twice! When the alarm stopped working on the first one I thought I had broken it. When it stopped working on the second one (after seven months) I realized that the clock is defective. Too bad, but unless you don't need a reliable alarm, don't buy it!
When our older daughter turned 6 the "Birthday Fairy" left this for her on her night stand. She was beginning to learn to tell time and it was the perfect size, face and included a nightlight and alarm. My husband researched the maker of the clock and was extremely pleased with the reputation of this well known company. This year our younger daughter turned 6 and the "Birthday Fairy" brought a new moon beam clock. As expected, we are happy with it. It is cute enough that our kids really like them as an accessory in their room.
