I bought this clock about 6 months ago. My husband loved it so much, he bought one, too (he is a bit hard of hearing, and alarm clock alarms are so high-pitched, he doesn't hear them. This one has a lower pitch and works well for him). Loved the alarm clock until a few weeks ago, when the alarm quit. Come to find out, I was setting the alarm by moving the alarm hand clockwise. The arrow on the back indicates counterclockwise. Be sure to follow the arrow, otherwise your alarm will not go off, even though the switch is "on".
I ordered this alarm clock for its size and features. It is electric with battery back up. The dial face is sizeable with option for back lit (switch on back). Next to the dial face is a soft light that goes on when the alarm signals (or not...switch on back). The sound of the alarm itself can be softened (switch on back). There are two separate knobs for setting the time of day and the alarm. The snooze feature is on top and is easy to tap; the alarm will sound again in 10 minutes. The snooze feature is renewable two more times. An easily accessible slide buttom shuts off the alarm. Read attentively the instructions for setting the alarm and light; there is a delay between the start of both. I thought the alarm did not work, but reread the intructions for more information. I purchased the blue color; it is more like aqua as it shows online. It is retro 1953, attractive, and sturdy. I bought another for a friend. Used a coupon. No shipping charges was great.
This was a b-day gift for my Mother who turned 78 and loves the color green. She opened her gift and was very happy. Her comment was it reminded her of the good ol days when electronics were easy to use, (it has the option of batteries also). She put it on her bedroom nightstand. I might have to get one for myself!
