If modern gadgets are what you need, this probably isn't for you. The retro look clock functions great (it is electric), but since it is not digital, it doesn't know AM from PM on the alarm, so you will have to set the alarm every night, and turn it off every morning (or whatever you schedule is). The bell is also a bit jarring and you have to get used to it. However, I love the look and it works great!
I have always liked the Moonbeam clocks but ones I'd seen in antique shops were either not in nice condition or did not work. It was good to find a reproduction of this classic design. The clock looks good in our Art Deco style bedroom and works great.
I purchased my first Moon Beam Clock several years ago and completely enjoyed the silent alarm with gentle flashes of light until my cats knocked it off my nightstand twice:( When I ordered and received my new one, the first thing I noticed is that the lighted dial was dimmer - not necessarily a good thing. Upon my first use, the moon beam lights worked, although not as bright as my first clock. The second time I used it, the alarm failed to go off - not a good thing when one must be at work on time. I called customer service and spoke with a helpful and pleasant CSR who sent out a replacement within a few days, before I returned the defective one. The replacement clock seems to work fine. Having read the other reviews, I'm concerned that the clock will malfunction after the return period. Hopefully it will continue to work well. I like the appearance of the clock and the moon beams!
