I love this retro clock. It's my second one. My first one is 5 years old. This one has many improvements. Can turn the alarm down & just use the light feature . I hate regular alarms to wake up too.
I wanted a non-digital bedside alarm clock with no bells and whistles - no radio, no fancy programming - just a clock that tells time and is visible in the dark. This one does the job very well. AC power with battery backup for occasional power outages; large clock face; quasi-retro design; slightly larger than expected, which is fine. Not a toy. I am happy with this purchase.
Warning labels about not turning the setting or alarm the wrong way should have been a clue. If they didn't want you to turn the alarm nob the wrong way put in a ratchet to stop you. So while trying to set the clock or alarm for the first time you have a 50/50 chance to break the clock.
I purchased this clock within the past year, and this morning discovered much to my horror (and the death of my morning schedule) that the alarm is not working anymore. The lights are working, the timing is fine; however, the most important feature of an alarm clock (the alarm!) is completely dead. It has not been moved from this spot since I purchased it; it was never dropped; there is no reason other than poor craftsmanship that this clock no longer is working properly. I am extremely disappointed. Do not buy this item!
