I love these clocks. We have one in each bedroom. The gently flashing light is such a nice way to wake up. After a decade, the first one I purchased has stopped working, so I am purchasing another to replace it. We did, at one point, buy one which did not work right out of the box, but Bean's replaced it immediately, and the next worked fine.... No complaints. These clocks are awesome.
We really love our Moon Beam Clock. The soft illumination it provides is perfect for a nite-light in our bedroom. It is still bright enough to enable us to tell what time it is without our glasses. That was one feature we really needed. The light blue color matches or bedroom paint scheme as well.
The pulsating light alarm is a nice feature also. First time we've ever had an alarm clock wake us with light. It is attractive, functional and just the right size for us. We highly recommend it.
I have a small bedroom and regular digital clocks light it up way too much. With the Moon Beam clock I can switch off the backlight at night and flip it on quickly if I want to see the time. The gradually brightening flashing light alarm is effective yet gentle too. Now my husband wants one!
The alarm on other clocks were so abrupt and loud that they scared my 7-year old awake on the rare occasions when he was still asleep at 7:00 a.m. Unfortunately he kept getting out of bed earlier and earlier every morning. This clock is great because he now knows to stay in bed until the light starts flashing. If he's still asleep, the alarm (set on low volume) comes on five minutes later and gently wakes him. The clock does have a battery backup so it stays on when the power fails. It also has a lighted dial (which can be switched on or off). The only reason I gave this four stars instead of five is because the clock is so expensive.
