I have waited quite a long time to find the "right" clock for my bedside table. It is everything I wanted. Nostalgic, art-deco, color wonderful and soothing. As always, LL Bean delivers quality at a good price
We own 2 moonbeam clocks--a pale green and a bluegrass. They are functional yet nice-looking. The face is perfect size. The backlight makes the time visible in a dark room. Alarm can be set to a bell; or soft blinking light for a few minutes then alarm bell. One of us likes to wake to the light before the the bell sound. The other likes to wake to the bell sound only. Snooze button allows an extra 10 minutes before alarm lights or sounds again.
I have been looking for an alarm clock that was reminiscent of the bedside clocks which told the time and would just alarm at a preset time. I did not want digital numbers staring at me and was not interested in a radio. I found this clock which was not only appealing to look at, but had all the functions I wanted, plus a bonus feature. The blinking light which starts off dim and gets brighter is wonderful- no more abrupt awakenings. If the light does not wake me up, I can count on the alarm sound which is not an obnoxious beep-beep! It is easy to set and even has a snooze button. The lighted dial allows for seeing the time at night, but does not glare and is a good size. The clock keeps time well and the alarm goes off as set. The design and colors are calming and have an old fashioned, but contemporary look. I just love it!
I've spent <$10 on clocks that have lasted years. I shelled out nearly $50 for this clock in hopes that it would at the very least last the same amount of time.
After less than a year and a half mine broke and now I either have to wait two weeks to get an exchanged item, using my phone as an alarm, or pay for a whole new clock. Both of these options are sub-optimal and frankly disappointing.
I have spent a lot of money at LLBean over the years because of its quality and service but I will think twice moving forward.
