The clock is wonderful - the new color - bluegrass - is soothing as well as the light I wake to! How wonderful it is to wake to a gentle light! It does offer the bell if the light is not enough but it is still a less jarring way to start the day than the beeping of other alarm clocks. It does have a slight ticking noise with the second hand, which I find soothing but others may not. Overall I absolutely love my new alarm clock, just sorry I waited so long to purchase it!
The important feature for me was the lighted dial. Love the way the dial lights up and is very readable..I had looked in several stores for such an item.
From reading the information I missed that it has to be plugged in and the batteries are for backup only. I would like it a little better to be fully run on batteries so I'd have less cords on the bedside table.
A beautiful retro design, large, easy-to-read clock face, cool flashing light to nudge you awake, and (can it be?) a pleasant alarm bell. Really, LL Bean, you've outdone yourself on this one!
