I purchased this clock 10 + years ago, looking for a gentler way to be pulled from sleep. I was hesitant at first, but it worked! I've still got that clock and I love it!
Try this if you are tired of being ripped from your sleep by screaming music or screeching noises that quite frankly start your day out on the wrong foot.
I was so excited to recieve my moonbeam clock! Everything was working properly when it arrived, but later the same day it just stopped working! I`m disapointed in L.L. Bean and I should have listened to the reviews! I hope this doesn`t happen to anyone else.
I received my clock a few days ago and so far I am quite pleased with it. I got the green color and it is quite attractive. I love the retro styling, and the way the clock face softly glows at night. Some people have complained about loud ticking but I can barely hear my clock and there is nothing wrong with my ears! The alarm has a decent sounding bell that does not scare you awake, but the flashing light will probably wake you up before the bell even rings! I am so happy to be able to get rid of my annoying digital clock and to use this fine clock instead. The clock was packed well and the shipping was quick. I am very happy with my first purchase from LL Bean!
I originally bought this clock a few years ago. I actually bought 3 of them and returned all three because as previous reviewers have said, the alarm function would not work properly. Well, I saw the clock again in the catalog and decided to give it another try. This time I followed the advise of other reviewers and it works great!! First, only turn the knob in the back of the clock in the direction of the arrows as it states. Second, don't force the clock ahead to get to the set alarm time to see if it works. Just set the alarm and wait to see if it's ok when it gets there on its own. Also, note that when it's set to light and bell function, only the light goes on for the first few minutes, then the bell kicks in. The clock looks great, the back round light enables you to read the time at night, the ticking is not loud, and believe it or not, the light alarm alone does wake you up. I bought the yellow and it's very pretty. Hope this helps:):)
