I ordered this as a gift for someone who has wanted this alarm clock for a long time. First off, the alarm clock is much larger than expected. I could get over that if the quality was what it should be. LL Bean's clothing is high quality, but this alarm clock does not fit the standards I am used to with LL Bean. (I understand that they do not manufacture the clock.) We tested the alarm out several times and every time the alarm never sounded. We checked the instructions and verified that we had followed them exactly. The clock itself looked cheap, felt cheap, and wasn't at all what I expected. I read the other reviews before purchasing, but figured I'd give it a try. Nope. The other poor reviews are correct. I returned the alarm clock without even thinking twice. Even if I had paid $5 for it, I would have sent it back.
I really like the looks of the moonbeam clock. I guess I didn't pay attention to the dimensions because I was quite surprised at how big it is. It keeps great time, I love the Big Ben face. One thing I wish is that it would just stay lighted instead of blinking on and off when the alarm goes off. I may just use the sound alarm and not the light.
The clock arrived in good condition but did not work. The minute hand moved, but the hour hand did not. We have sent it back for a replacement. I have used an earlier version of this clock model for at least five years with no problems and wanted another one for another bedroom. I really like being awakened by the flashing light. I hope the replacement works properly.
