I have had my eye on this clock for years, finally took the plunge, and I'm so happy with my purchase. The dial is large and clear, the backlight can be turned on or off, and I'm very much enjoying the gentler wake up from the light. But if you want to use the bell, it is not jarring or unpleasant. It is a beautiful, quality piece with a sweet, vintage style.
Unlike other old fashioned clocks that make a loud ticking noise as the second hand moves, this clock does not make an audible tick. In the past, I have used a light on a timer as a silent but effective alarm. This clock alarm clock is great because it offers the choice of using the light alone or in combination with the alarm. Plus, it's just a great looking clock with vintage style.
I was looking for another Big Ben, only to discover that the design had been changed, and the small one was not available. So I tried the Moon Beam model, and really like it, much better. you can adjust the setting so that it is light only, or light followed by sound, and there are two settings for the sound. It is effective, but not obtrusive, doesn't wake you up angry! It has a nice retro look and feel to it. Very easy to set and use, and quite good looking.
Nice, retro clock that is actually easy to use, easy to see, and looks great with my vintage bedroom furniture. This clock can be used with any decor. It's a pleasure to be able to figure out how to set the alarm!
