I own two of these alarm clocks. One is ten years old. The other is about four. They are great looking clocks so it is with deep sorrow I acknowledge that they have to go away! When they work, they are great. However, these clocks are simply not reliable. It is hit or miss whether they will go off at the time set. After several years the alarm function becomes erratic at best. For the first time in over 30 years of shopping with LL Bean, I am disappointed in them. In reading other reviews, it is apparent to me that the issue of an erratic alarm is a known one; at least it should be. Many people have taken the time to write and say they can not trust the clock to perform its intended function. These reviews extend back for several years. Why is the clock still available for sale? It is an alarm clock. If it can't be relied on to go off when intended, then what is its purpose? Especially when you are paying almost $50.00 for it. When I called LL Bean, they very quickly offered to let me return the clocks for full credit. But, that doesn't solve the problem. I would much rather have this clock working reliably for me day after day.
I replaced an electronic gee-whiz-I-do-everything bedside clock that was like having a lighthouse next to the bed. This Moonbeam clock creates its own ambience...the lit face is beautiful, no squinting required to read the time in the dark.
It's a clock...no music, no cell phone charger, no radio stations. Just this very pretty clock doing its job with charming competency. The alarm isn't...alarming, that is. Just soft and persistent.

This is an awesome clock! We first saw it in a hotel room ("Aloft") and it looked so contemporary and stylish that I wanted to have one at home right away. It was hard to choose the color, because all of them are great. The clock works just fine, all its features are working ok...so far. Retro style is the new fashion. And you cannot beat the price. Watch for LLBean coupons and you even get a discount.
Exactly what I was looking for... stylish and quiet and the back light is bright enough to tell the time after dark... but not bright enough to keep you awake. Love it!
