I purchased the 1912 mens sweathsirt and LOVE it! So when I saw this come up on sale I jumped on it. The $20 in L.L.Bean coupons I had helped too. I have never purchased a womens L.L.Bean sweatshirt so I can't tell you what the quality is. But the mens sweathsirts are wonderful. They are thick and warm and wash wonderfully. Great for those cold lazy weekend days.
I spent a lot of time searching for a woman's crew neck sweatshirt of this style and quality -- the kind of shirt I remember and could rely on to be warm, cozy and last for years. Now everything is hoodie style. I don't like having bunched up fabric against my neck. This men's shirt in a Large works for me. I would typically have ordered an XL in women's. I haven't laundered the shirt yet but I think it will be fine. It's well made. I got the blue which has a more subtle logo stitching. There is even a loop inside the neck for hanging the shirt on a hook. Men's clothes are ever-so-much more practical than women's. As long as women settle for less, that's what we're going to get. Anyway, I'm pleased to have the garment I was seeking!
I am yet another woman who was in search of an LL Bean sweatshirt and found none in the the women's section that pleased me. I have broad shoulders and I am 5'2" 130lb and I ordered a medium and it was perfect. Very cozy, nice material, I expect to get many years of wear out of this.
Another female here, so glad I found this sweatshirt in men's. I was looking for a big roomy sweatshirt for weekends and lounging around in on a winter's day. It's darned near impossible to find them for women these days. I'm '5"7 and I got a lg tall- love it, great good quality sturdy shirt, thank you! I'll be getting another soon.
