I bought the white MadBomber for my 8 year old daughter for Christmas and she's madly in love with it. After our recent blizzard here in the North East, she's worn it outside everyday in the snow. She's nice and warm. Her only complaint is that the strap around the chin is a buckle, and not a push in clip like her younger brothers. The buckle is much more difficult for her to do. Other than that, she loves it. If it wasn't for that, it would be 5 stars. In addition to being warm, it cleans so easily! She had it opened for about 15 minutes before her 3 year old sister picked it up and got melted chocolate from her Chocolate Santa on the fur and on her hat. I literally spot cleaned it with a wash cloth and it came right out. How great is that??
Wasn't sure if I would like this hat at the beginning. After using it I can tell you this is one great hat. It is perfect for keeping your head warm while plowing snow in windy conditions, because you can buckle it under your chin, it turns with your head and provides good visibility unlike a jacket hood. It is warm and soft. Find it runs maybe just a bit small, order up a size if unsure. When not plowing or battling a blizzard, it's just fun to turn up the flaps and buckle it on top for a great look.
First time in my life that my head has felt soooo warm in the bitter cold. Just moved north to the country and my bald head doesn't care how cold it gets anymore. Thanks LL Bean.
