Got this as a Christmas gift for my husband. He really liked the looks of it and said it was extremely soft and warm; so warm that he had to lift the flaps up because he was starting to sweat in it. Don't know about durability yet because he just got it. It looks very well made.
I got this for my husband, he complained of cold ears, he loved it, the only drawback is the buckle. He wished it had a snap or velcro, it is too hard to buckle and impossible if you have gloves on.
I live in the Northeast and it gets cold and windy. I walk my dog every morning at 5:30 and the LL Bean Mad Bomber hat has warmed up my daily walk. The hat is windproof, and the front fur flap was really great to have in today's blizzard conditions. It is much better than fleece head wear.

this is estremely warm and comfy! the fur is soft and i wore it tonight during the winterstorm! and whatever the wind and snow blew on my face i din't care because my head and ears were toasty and warm!! :) i was walking in the middle of the winterstorm for more than 30 minutes to accompany my friend safely to her house. thanks to LLBean!!! i have convinced my friend to get this!!
