I'm into my fourth year for these slippers. (Indoor, cold weather use). They continue to get more comfortable every time I wear them. No excessive amounts of wear showing yet. I'm hoping to get another four years out of them before I have to think about a new pair.
Got these as an x-mass gift. They fit tight when new (they were the "correct" size). You may want to up-size, however, after a couple months of daily wear they stretched enough to be comfortable. After the first 3-4 months of wearing them in the evening around the house the stitching on both of them began to break and unravel. I plan to have them replaced or repaired by Bean, but I am very unimpressed with how quickly they started to fall apart.
I have been buying all-leather moccasins for over twenty years from another retailer. These arrived yesterday and are, by far, the best fitting, most comfortable out-of-the-box moccasins I have ever purchased. They are, initially, a little stiff in the side-shell but that only adds to the foot forming, over time. Couldn't be happier and would highly recommend them to anyone to appreciates a good quality all-leather moccasin.
this was my third pair of leather slippers from LLBean. within 3 months of wearing the inner sole became detached from the next layer of leather. I attempted repair by using a good adhesive (Gorilla glue) applied between layers of leather allowing the repair to dry for multiple days. upon wearing them again the leather once again became detached from the next layer. as I said, these were my third pair, I am returning them along with a new pair of the Bison leather slippers I just received on 9/21/2015 from LLBean for a similar issue with the inner sole, although the innersole on the Bison pair appears to be the problem.
would I buy either type in the future, of course I will.
I suspect I have had the misfortune of receiving poor quality examples.
(I cannot obtain a good photo of the original pair of leather slippers, but have attached a photo of the issue with the Bison slippers).
