Fireplace Gloves - Perfect for Wood Stoves, January 16, 2010
By BrewersDarling from New Hampshire

"We recently moved to a house with a wood stove. I am a big klutz and was afraid I would burn myself loading logs into the fire.

We purchased the Extra-Long Fireplace gloves. These come up to my elbows, so I am no longer afraid to load wood OR re-position logs already in the fire. We are happy we paid the extra ten bucks for the extra long gloves because of the extra coverage.

The gloves are truly incredible & nothing like we saw in our local box stores or local independent fireplace/wood stove shops.

The flannel lining is soft & supple.

My husband says he would describe the gloves as "like fireman gloves".

If you know someone who had a fireplace or wood stove & who does not have these gloves, you've found the perfect gift for them!

Fabulous Gloves, December 30, 2009
By OconomowocShopper from Oconomowoc, WI

"When I burned the hair off the back of my hands, I knew I had to do something. I saw the fireplace gloves in your catalog and ordered them. They work perfectly for opening the wood burner to add more wood and to put the wood in the burner.

Great product, great price, great shopping experience.

Fantastic, December 27, 2009
By Teabird from Quebec

"We think these gloves are magic. When else can you stick your hands straight into the fire to move flaming logs about? Our friends with fireplaces were so envious we just ordered extra pairs for them. Plus they are soft and handsome too. A great purchase."

Great Gloves, December 23, 2009
By AlaskaShopper2 from Anchorage, AK

"Purchased the extra long gloves as a gift for my husband and he loves them! They're very comfortable, not bulky & provide great heat protection. He uses them for our fireplace, wood burning stove & outdoor fire pit. He's able to pick up and reposition the burning logs and feel no heat using these gloves. Great product, worth the money!"

The Best!, October 7, 2009
By MollyK from Kerrville, TX

"These are absolutely wonderful. We have purchased 3 pairs over the years, and they are favorites for fireplace, BBQ, and anything else too hot to touch. One of our dogs just chewed off a finger of our new pair (sigh), so dogs love them as well."

Long leather/suede gloves--brilliant!, December 10, 2008
By cheshirecat from the gorgeous north where it hits -30F every year!

"As a 40 year log fire builder I can say with great confidence these are a welcome and needed accessory to your fireplace. Not only is comfort increased when carrying the logs but the chance of getting burned is greatly minimized. Fireplaces can be dangerous and these well thought out tools are obviously designed by another person very familiar with building fires. These gloves--especially in the longer length--aren't something I've seen elsewhere. Good job, LLBean and thank you."

Better than described, November 24, 2008
By chevygirl from Chester County, Pennsylvania

"I wanted fully lined gloves because my husband's skin is allergic to the dye or a finishing chemical in our old unlined gloves.

These gloves are completely lined from the elbow to the fingertips. The hand is lined with extra thick soft wool on both the palm and top-side. The glove extends all the way to the elbow and the wrist-to-elbow piece is lined with flannel. The leather is soft, flexible and highly resistant to heat, making it easy and safe to grasp smoldering logs.

I highly recommend these gloves. Order the extended length, it's worth the extra money.

Great Gloves, September 27, 2008
By IlliniFan from Atlanta, GA

"We love fires in the hearth all fall and winter. These gloves make handling the logs so much easier. Fireplace tools have their purpose, but these gloves definitely replace the tongs in our house. You can turn logs without danger of one rolling off, no more dropping logs when adding them. They are safe and comfortable. I highly recommend them!"
