This is not up to LLB standards. This flannel is not flannel.It is a nice weight of cotton -fine for fall. It is not flannel - no fluff,no fuzz, no flannel. Very very disappointing. Comforrtable, well made, nicely finished and tailored, but not flannel. I live in Toronto where it is cold and we love our real, fluffy, flannel nighties - this is so not flannel. It is certainly not the flannel LLB is famous for in its shirts and sheets.
I bought the "crystal blue dobby"-- I'd purchased the "red dobby" some years ago & found it very comfortable to sleep in on cold winter nights -- but the new fabric seemed thinner & the dobby pattern, in white embroidery on the light blue ground, appeared fainter & less well-defined than it had in the red on white. After washing, the blue fabric seemed much more prone to wrinkling & a definite light fuzz appeared on the surface, something that had not happened with the older nightgown. However, the old nightgown had shrunk a lot after being washed & this present gown seems to have retained its size, at least so far. It is still very comfortable & a flattering style for this less-than-perfect figure. I'd have given it 5 stars except for the fabric's feeling so much lighter in weight & the wrinkling & fuzzing of the surface.
I bought one of these for my wife several years ago and it became her favorite for the colder months. The New one in Plaid pleased her even more. The vintage design is very classy. As always the package arrived promptly, gift wrapped and in time for the Holiday. A great gift for the guy who doesn"t know what his wife would like.
I waivered about buying this after reading the reviews but went ahead any way. Was I disappointed. It is NOT flannel, it is a heavy cotton. It is going back.
