It's hard to find a classic, understated, old-fashioned nightgown, but this is it: neither flouncy sweet nor masculine plaid. You might want to order a smaller-than-your-usual size (in most clothes I wear a Medium Regular, but for this, the Petite Small fit best).
I bought this nightgown for my mother for Christmas because she gets cold easily and she loves well-made timeless things. It's very beautifully made with the little tucks across the front, and the beautiful vintage fabric. She put it on the next day and wore it all day and didn't want to take it off, and it was one of the strangely cold winter days that we get in Austin sometimes. So I consider this gift a success! I got her a small, but it is very roomy, but I consider that a good thing for comfort.
Warm, soft, and well made with nice detailing, I put this gown on and refused to wear anything else but slippers for the next two days. Luckily, it was the weekend. Even if you have to get up and go to work the next morning, you will have slept in soothing comfort and looked sweet all the while. This gown is a keeper!
