It just came today and I like it alot! I am a minimalist, but love the styling of this gown....very comfortable....I don't notice a thinning iof the fabric from previous gowns....if anything, I think it's heavier.
I haven't washed it yet, but since other bean gowns are 10 years old and still going strong, I have no concerns about it.
Llbean has great products that last a long time, are reasonably priced, and it s onvenient to order online rather than hawking the stores!
I just wish that Bean would do a little bit more with minimalism ....the coed look is yesterday.....think Eileen Fisher as far as minimalism goes.....classic, comfortable,, easy care....everything that Bean has but because of the fabrics a little higher price.
Try a few minimalist things in the Signature line....I think you will find people want it!
I bought 3 this year and had 3 from prior years. I really love this gown. I noticed the weight of the fabric was different right away! It is lighter, thinner. Not as warm. I still will wear them. I love the style. I did like the heavier fabric though as I live in the North.
It's a good thing I am retired because when I put this nightgown on for the first time I never wanted to take it off. It is super comfortable even after a wash, length is perfect, just right for a cool night, looks terrific, What's not to love!
I'm online ordering my third of these nightgowns. Yes, they are billowy, which is awesome as the gown never "traps" my legs as I toss and turn at night. I am 5' 7" and have pretty normal proportions, but broad shoulders from a lifetime of swimming. I have had the large and the extra large. The sleeve length is better for me in the XL, but I think I'll go back to the L for the fit of the body. (I normally wear a 10-12 in non- stretchy tops.) I have no idea about the reviews that complain the fabric is too lightweight; this nightgown is super thick, cozy, and warm, even in the Upper Midwest's winters! I have ,one right next to me, fresh from the wash, and I would be hard pressed to get it to fit in a shoebox. I never consider packing this on a trip, because it is too bulky. All of which is just to speak to its fluffy coziness.
